Portrait Sessions
If you like how you look, you'll like my portraits.

People are always complimenting my work. Tending toward portraits where your face fills the screen - what I call In Your Face portrait - I also like taking more active photographs of people and pets. Each photo shows your personality in a way that posed studio portraits cannot.

I use two cameras - a Canon A590is (point and shoot) and a Canon S5is (10x telephoto midrange). I prefer to take shots in natural daylight, but I'll use the flash when I have to. My portraits tend to jump out of the page.

I rarely crop the original image, nor do I typically adjust them in Photoshop. I don't use lights or umbrellas, and don't have anyone do your makeup. You'll come out the way you look in real life. So will your spouse, your children, or your pets.

So, if you like how you look, you'll like my portraits.

The Shooting Session
Each two hour shooting session costs $250 and does not include the cost of prints. This gives me enough time to get to know you well enough to represent your personality in photos. We can take photos outside, to get the benefit of natural light. Or we can do the session at your home or other indoor location.

Be prepared - I will take at least 100 photos and ask you to stand over here and then move over there, and hold this prop just so, and have this expression on your face.

Wear the clothes you want in your photographs. Bring any props that represent you. A musician could pose with her instrument, perhaps playing an original song. I also have some props you can use, if you haven't brought your own.

I will send you an emailed contact sheet of photographs a few days after our shooting session. Just choose the prints you want, and I'll get them to you shortly. I can also provide photo books.
